DANIEL R. SAUNDERS, DMD
Dr. Saunders graduated with honors from Boston University in 1992 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1997, where he was Class President. He was awarded the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Implant Award and the Martin J. Loeb Leadership Award in 1997. He was also awarded the American Student Dental Association National Award of Excellence.
Dr. Saunders served as the District I representative for the Resident Organization of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons from 1998 to 2001. Dr. Saunders has given presentations and lectures on “Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma”, “Pathology” and “Dental Implants”. He has had articles published in Implant Dentistry (1997) and Biochemical and Biophysical Communications (1993). He received the Ray Zambito Award for Literature research in 2001.
Dr. Saunders is on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is a delegate for the Connecticut State Dental Association and a member of the American Dental Association, Vernon and Tolland dental societies. He is on medical staff at ECHN health centers. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (ABOMS), Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS) and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Saunders is on the Steering Committee for the Connecticut Mission of Mercy. He has been an active participant since the beginning along with his staff.
Dr. Saunders resides in Somers with his wife,Tina and two daughters. His hobbies include boating, skiing, and family activities.
